Looking for Apartments to Rent in Cyprus?
If you are planning to visit this beautiful island then looking for apartments to rent in Cyprus can be a better alternative to staying at a hotel. When you stay in an apartment, you have more flexibility as to how you will conduct yourself during your visit, whereas there are more constraints in a hotel.
Are Apartments More Affordable?
Renting an apartment can also be more affordable as prices are based on the whole apartment and not just per room. In addition to lower prices, owners may occasionally offer special offers (promotional rates) in order to encourage people to rent their apartments and, hopefully, become regular guests every time they return to Cyprus.
Apartments in Cyprus can be leased on a long-term rental basis or short-term basis. If long term, the tenant typically shoulders the cost of the utilities such as water and electricity. For most short-term rentals, however, utility costs will usually be included in the price quoted.
In our own luxury rental apartment we also provide free WI-FI, cleaning, linen, towels and a generous provisions pack to help our guests get off to a good start – all at no extra cost! Everyone wants free WI-FI access these days but not all apartments offer this, so don’t forget to ask.
The cost of apartment rentals will also differ depending on which district of Cyprus you choose to stay in. Rents are generally highest in Nicosia, while they are the lowest in Limassol and Larnaca.
Where To Stay in Cyprus?
Larnaca district is certainly a great place to visit. My favourite place in that region is the village of Mazotos which is an ideal spot for anyone looking for apartments to rent in Cyprus. I admit to being bias on this point because my wife and I own our own wonderful apartment there. We would love to have you as a guest so please explore (perhaps start with our home page) the rest of this site and book a holiday or a short break, if you wish.
The Larnaca administrative district is one of the most beautiful places in Cyprus to visit with the earliest evidence of habitation dating back to 6,000 years ago. Larnaca town, itself, is built over the oldest city in Cyprus. Today, the older parts of the town sit alongside more modern hotels, shops and restaurants. The areas close to the beach are particularly popular with tourists.
Some of the attractions you must visit while you are in Larnaca include:
- The Church of Saint Lazarus – A Greek Orthodox church dating back to the 9th century and which is named after the New Testament Lazarus, the father of Mary whom Jesus raised from the dead.
- Hala Sultan Tekke – Home to the Mosque of Umm Haram, and includes a mausoleum, minaret and cemetery. The mosque is named after an aunt of the prophet Mohammed and is a holy site for Turkish Cypriot Muslims. The site however, is open to all religions, and is located on the shores of the Larnaca Salt Lake.
- Larnaca Salt Lake. This is actually a network of four salt lakes including Lake Aliki and is located near the airport and to the west of the capital. In the winter season (November to March), large flocks of pink flamingos can be seen on the lake.
Larnaca International Airport
In addition, Cyprus’ main international airport, the Larnaca International Airport, is located in the district. The airport, which is the 64th busiest in Europe, boasts of a 6,000 sq. m. shopping area where shoppers can buy a variety of luxury goods, electronic products and tobacco and alcohol products as well as nineteen eateries and bars.H
